Pralay Qayamat Tribulation
Pralay (Hinduism)
In Hinduism, Pralaya (dissolution) signifies a period of destruction that is part of an endless cycle of creation, maintenance, and destruction. It is not an ultimate end but a necessary process before rebirth.
- Process: Pralaya often involves a great flood or deluge, with the god Vishnu in his Kalki avatar descending to Earth to destroy evil forces.
- Cycles: There are different types of Pralaya described in scriptures like the Vishnu Purana, ranging from daily dissolution (Nitya) to the great cosmic dissolution (Maha Pralaya) that occurs at the end of a kalpa (a vast period of time).
- Outcome: The cycle gives way to a new creation initiated by Lord Brahma, emphasizing a cyclical view of existence.
Qayamat (Islam)
Qayamat (or Yawm al-Qiyamah) in Islam refers to the "Day of Judgment" or "Doomsday," a linear end to the current world where all individuals will be judged for their deeds.
- Events: It is preceded by specific signs, including widespread corruption, natural disasters, and the appearance of the Dajjal (an Antichrist-like figure).
- Outcome: Following the judgment, the righteous are rewarded with entry into Heaven (Jannah), while the unrighteous face eternal damnation in Hell (Jahannam).
Tribulation (Christianity)
In Christian eschatology, the Tribulation is a future period of intense suffering and persecution on Earth that precedes the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
- Events: This period, often described as lasting for seven years, will be a time of great distress, natural disasters, and the rise of the Antichrist.
- Outcome: At the end of the Tribulation, Jesus will return to Earth in power and glory, leading to a final judgment, the gathering of the elect (saved individuals), and the establishment of God's eternal kingdom.
